AI Cinema, Pew Die Pie, and Open-Source Model Wars
1/ PewDiePie Running Local AI Models
PewDiePie diving into local AI setups might surprise some; but he’s actually done a lot of deep work in this space. At this point, he probably understands AI systems better than many researchers. It’s fascinating to see major creators experiment hands-on with local inference and fine-tuning!
2/ China Takes the Lead on Open-Source AI
While the US moves fast in commercial AI, China’s open-source ecosystem is accelerating at an incredible pace. From massive multilingual models to new benchmarks, the country’s collective R&D push is shaping the next wave of global AI collaboration.
The question over the long term: who’s going to end up winning the AI battle? There may be a Kalshi bet for that!
3/ Backlash Against Chat Interfaces?
Are users starting to feel fatigue with chat-based UIs? The next frontier might involve rethinking how humans and AI interact, moving beyond text boxes into more intuitive, multimodal, or even embodied interfaces.
Every major tech shift tends to have its physical manifestatio and robotics might be that for AI. From humanoids to warehouse bots, the next wave of real-world automation could reshape entire industries faster than most expect.
5/ Lying AI Is a Real Risk
As AI systems get smarter, alignment and truthfulness become critical. Without free speech, and having the AI train on various “woke” data on the internet (ex: Reddit), truth is a key aspect of AI moving forward. And though Grok has done the best regarding this (see Grokipedia), research research in this field matters more than ever.
Coca-Cola’s new AI-generated ad looks straight out of a high-end studio. The production quality is incredible—and it’s a glimpse of how generative media will redefine brand storytelling and visual creativity in the next few years.
It’s absolutely incredible progress in AI- a cinema, as some may say.
