AI in Medicine & Voice

AI Alcohol Risk Prediction

Generative AI is gradually making significant strides in the field of medicine. In a recent experiment, researchers employed natural language processing (NLP) techniques to analyze approximately 54,000 medical records to gain insights into alcohol consumption patterns.

The mechanism? The NLP program was set to identify the diagnostic codes and indicators of risky alcohol use. This could be used to create a more dialed-in, “Bryan Johnson-esque” society.

AI optimization!

Anyways, according to a study by Gerdes et al, AI and MBL were used to determine which cancer treatments would produce the best response in patients. The study had 48 cell lines, and was validated with 53 cancer cell models and 36 cases of leukemia.

All this to say…AI will play a huge role in curing medical diseases.

Now, onto some tooling.

1/ DeepScribe- AI powered medical tooling tech…Still on the medicine? Yep. They classify themselves as “the world’s most adopted medical scribe”

Replace doctors? Not in the short term- it very much acts as a copilot,

2/ CB Insights has a whole slew of AI predictions.

Some notable ones include:

  • Turmoil at the chip level- there will be chip wars with Nvidia and competitors

  • Data Scarcity becomes huge- LLMs are currently running out of free and open data available on the internet, and proprietary data scraping is becoming increasingly difficult

  • Gen Z finds solace in AI girlfriends– the loneliness rates of Gen Z has been skyrocketing, and so rates of usage of tools such as AI girlfriends will increase drastically

  • Multi-modal AI becomes table-stakes for many digital experiences

3/ A Japanese author states that AI helped her write an Award-winning science-fiction novel. Rie Kudan states that 5% of her book is “verbatim written by ChatGPT”

It was bound to happen- more and more novels will be written by AI. The question becomes- how skilled are you at wielding the AI sword?

4/ Eleven Labs (AI voice generator) takes off, with $80 mil in funding.

With this funding, they are planning on building a dubbing studio and a voice library marketplace.

 Fun times ahead.

Anyways, peace.
