Crypto Prices Rally

Effect on Mental Health

So, crypto prices are coming back up again. Sort of. The bitcoin maximalists are already organizing their toga parties, Silicon Valley style. Too soon to celebrate?

If you’re into stocks or crypto, you’ve probably been refreshing your Coinbase, Robinhood, and…..practically any app other than FTX...

Circling back, all this financial volatility can take a massive toll on you. Inflation, economy, crypto prices, stocks, Twitter, all in conjunction with your school work or job- it can get a bit too much.

We highly recommend, on this fine Sunday, that you don’t keep refreshing those prices, or time the market for the “perfect” buy or sell-off.

Why?

You might be so used to the year-long dip that nothing fazes you at this point.

However, if you're like most, you probably think about these prices way too much. And mental health experts, as well as common sense practitioners, all explain the harmful physiological response to caring too much about financial markets and volatility.

If you’re checking, and perhaps obsessing, about crypto prices, gas prices, and the economy, your body goes into  “fight or flight”  mode.

In this mode:

  • Your pupils dilate

  • Your blood pressure increases

  • You feel tense

Human’s evolved to have these stress responses to threats and danger coming from animals, weather conditions, and food scarcity.

Today, it's overkill in most situations. Especially those outside of your control.

In fact, It's no wonder why only 45% of Gen Z say they feel fine. A mental health epidemic is rapidly expanding, and a lot of it stems from people worrying about things, such as crypto prices, which they cannot control.

Based on new scientific research, the best way to calm down from this feeling of heightened tension is to activate the Parasympathetic nervous system. Put in plain English, this system relaxes your body.

Here are some daily habits to help you chill out and activate your Parasympathetic system:

  • Take a walk

  • Put on a Yoga video on youtube and do the first 10 minutes

  • Take a deep breath

  • Journal your thoughts

  • Hit the gym

  • Eat legumes, nuts , or cashews (foods with magnesium calm you down)

  • Understand that you can only control your actions & and have an internal locus of control

  • Ask ChatGPT to tell you a dad joke (highly recommended)

So, close up that Coinbase app, because we’ve got some good alternative tools for you:

  • Meditopia

  • Calm

  • A jump rope (just 50 skips will make you feel different)

  • Betterhelp (you’ve probably seen the ads)

  • Meetup.com (going to an event and chatting can do wonders for your mental health)

Anyways lads, crypto’s going up again. Doesn’t matter though- close the apps, go for a walk, and enjoy the sun. The future you is going to thank the present you.
