Elon & xAI Colossus

1/ Elon Launches the Most Powerful AI Cluster

The name? Colossus. Number of GPUs? 100,000 Nvidia. And all of it was built in just 122 days.

Elon has gone beast mode (as he usually does) with xAI, and plans to get to 200k NVIDIA GPUs soon.

Grok and xAI are catching up to OpenAI!

2/ AI Web Crawling Wars

Robots.txt is the machine-readable file that bots use to determine whether to crawl certain parts of a site.

AI models have been using this as well- but recently, a lot of sites have been using robots.txt to restrict bots- a “no trespassing” signal to the AI model.

Websites are slamming their digital doors shut, but some AI models (example: Claude) are accused of picking the lock. It's the Wild West out there in AI.

3/ Growing Corporate AI Trend

Microsoft Research reports a doubling of generative AI use in workplaces over the past six months, with 75% of global knowledge workers now utilizing it. However, the focus is shifting from flashy demonstrations to tangible ROI, as managers demand concrete results from AI implementation.

4/ CRISPR Gene Editing

At the Biotech startup, Profluent Bio, researchers created OpenCRISPR-1, a gene editing tool that surpasses the performance of currently available CRISPR systems.

To do this, researchers used AI models train on millions of CRISPR neurons.

This is just the beginning of the AI age in Biotech!
