Google seems to have captured the Zeitgeist of AI last week.
Everyone is speaking of the bias in its model.
It’s true, the model seems fundamentally flawed at a base training layer… but at least many are aware of this right now.
1/ NVIDIA has launched AI Chips for the laptop- the RTX 500 and 1000 Ada Generation Laptop GPUs.
Gamer frenzy incoming…
It's true that gamers’ demands for a better gaming experience was a huge factor in AI acceleration and GPU development!
2/ GPT-4 is still the king
Mistral, the open-source startup building it’s own LLMs, has captured the wonder and attention of AI developers all over the world.
The question remained: can their newest model, Mistral Large, challenge the supremacy and performance of GPT-4?
Turns out, the answer is…not quite yet
Mistral, though much cheaper than GPT-4 on a usage basis, underperforms it. GPT-4 is the gold standard for AI, undoubtedly- and has been since the start of 2023!
3/ AI in War?
There have been companies like Palantir that sell technology to the US government.

It is a necessity for governments to keep up with the latest technology and identify threats- but it’s a sobering topic nonetheless.
The Pentagon is utilizing computer vision techniques as well as generative AI to analyze and eliminate threats.
On that note, the El Segundo defense tech hackathon garnered a lot of buzz last week.
The next generation of dynamic American tech founders are here!
Anyways, have a productive, AI-filled week ahead.
