Grok and GPTs

Plus an AI brawl

Whats good y’all.

The AI world’s gone bananas over the last week.

And as November marches on, Elon just threw a curveball into the world of AI.

No, not talking about X (or twitter), or whatever they call it these days.

I’m speaking of the massive announcement that Elon made with regards to a ChatGPT competitor, which he calls Grok.

Now, what is Grok?

Well, its a competitor to ChatGPT, and its got some interesting takes, to say the least:

Got a bit of that Elon energy, eh?

Grok knows a bit too much…

Anyways, on a different note, this does mean there’s more competition at the top of the AI food chain, which is always good.

OpenAI quickly followed with Dev Day and made some crazy updates to their core product and offering.

Here’s the rundown:

-GPTs…basically a GPT powered App store

-GPT-4 Vision API— This is Huge. It allows developers to use the API in which the AI can take in images and answer questions about them.

A whole slew of apps are about to be developed using this tech. Stay tuned…

Dalle 3 API- Huge for developers – it can generate text in images and understand complex prompts. Devs, go nuts!

Basically, here’s a quick summary:

• GPT-4-Turbo has 128k context (almost 300 pages equivalent)

• JSON mode--> it responds in valid JSON

• Retrieval revamp with outside knowledge bases/documents

• April 2023 cutoff (Big!)

• Dalle 3, GPT-4V APIs set to release

• Text to speech (6 voices!)

• Whisper version 3 release

• Copyright Shield (protection systems in place)

• Assistants API release

• GPTs...GPT Store (Biggest of all)

The GPT store now…is basically the app store in 2009- buckle up.

And now…we’ve come to some shade and spice between Sam and Elon:

Now, if you know Elon, it’s no surprise he definitely responded…

With heat? You be the judge:

A little competition didn’t hurt anybody.

Till next time.
