Karpathy Leaved OpenAI & UPENN Makes Moves

Karpathy has left OpenAI…don’t worry, it wasn’t a coup like the board orchestrated a few months back….

The NFL itself uses a Software called ‘The Digital Athlete’

Specifically, this tool gathers data from a wide range of sources, and uses AWS to get real-time speed, acceleration, and data for every player.

And it uses a variety of sensors on the field to get this information. The Digital Athlete software then runs these inputs through an AI & ML algorithm to gather insights on personalized training, injury prevention, and recovery. Not generative AI per se, but AI nonetheless.

Teaching computers to speak is a huge underlying current of what is happening today with AI and spatial computing

1/Nvidia keeps winning. Though it does not disclose the price of H100, we can only assume that they are rising as demand for them rises. And now, they are offering the big companies custom AI chips. 

2/ With Valentine’s Day being this, we’ve got to explore the phenomenon…. AI girlfriends.

Seems a bit out there, but with the rate things are evolving, it doesn't seem too out there…

This resembles the world that we are heading toward- one with AI companions and connections leading the way.

It can be dystopian in certain respects, but technology keeps moving. Supply and demand.

3/AI sports betting is now increasing in prominence.

Take, GammaStack for example, which is a full-stack AI software for sports betting. 

Not to condone it, but it’s coming!

4/ Nokia adopts gen AI technology into the operational environment (first to do so)- the tool they use uses an LLM output based on real-time operational technology

Who knew Nokia would be leading the pack?

5/ UPENN becomes the first school to offer AI undergraduate degree

Though it is a subsection of computer science study, it is interesting to witness a whole degree focused on AI.
