It’s Officially Super Intelligence

The rebrand is here. President Trump and a group of tech leaders have decided that “AI” just wasn’t cutting it anymore. From now on, we’re calling it Super Intelligence. Or SI, if you’re into the whole efficiency thing.

The announcement came with peak 2026 energy. Elon Musk, standing right next to the President, started talking about the benefits of AI… then caught himself mid-sentence.

“It’s worth highlighting the benefits of AI. I mean SI! Pardon me.”

Trump gave him a solid arm smack and a “Thank you!” while Elon recovered with a firm “Super Intelligence!”

The whole exchange is pure gold.

While the name change was still landing, the administration dropped the next move: America.gov. It’s being billed as a single AI-powered portal (sorry, SI-powered portal) for navigating the federal government. One stop instead of the usual scavenger hunt across dozens of outdated agency sites.

Trump and JD Vance are set to unveil it with a stacked guest list that includes Elon Musk, Nvidia’s Jensen Huang, Blue Origin’s Dave Limp, Marco Rubio, and Dr. Oz. The platform was designed by Airbnb cofounder Joe Gebbia, now serving as the country’s first Chief Design Officer. The pitch is simple: make dealing with the government feel less like punishment.

Meanwhile, the machines are already doing science. Anthropic’s Claude just helped uncover a previously unknown enzyme system in bacteriophage DNA that looks a lot like a new gene-editing mechanism. Dario Amodei noted that Claude did most of the heavy lifting: reading literature, scanning genomes, spotting the pattern, and even suggesting experiments that the human team then ran. They’re still figuring out exactly what the system does, but the trajectory is clear. Biology is starting to feel the same exponential curve that math already hit.

And if you want the next generation to keep pace, a16z just launched the Horowitz Andreessen Academy in San Francisco. It’s built for ambitious high school graduates who want to learn by building, not just sitting in lectures. The founding partners read like a who’s who of the current tech stack: Anthropic, OpenAI, Nvidia, Anduril, Palantir, Stripe, and more. The stated goal is straightforward. The internet let people know anything. Super Intelligence lets them do anything. The Academy is trying to train the kids who will actually do it.

Of course, not everyone is throwing confetti. Bill Gates recently warned that AI could “drive events that cause a billion deaths.”

Um yea… he said that.
