Truth, AI Dating, & Elon

1/ Deepfake Debacle

The big question on everyone's mind - what's the ideal mode of communication in this age of AI? And how can we ensure authenticity when deepfakes and bad actors lurk around every corner?

OpenAI is actually working to solve the issue- as it usually does.

And so, OpenAI is now launching a set of tools to aid research on this matter- very much needed, as many scams can perpetuate in this age. And to fight deepfakes and bad actors, people must understand AI ata fundamental

Open AI seems to be putting in a $2 million fund to support AI education, including through organizations such as the Older Adults Technology Services from AARP.

Democratizing understanding of AI technology, in addition to use, will be key.

2/ Bumble founder emphasizes AI’s role in the future of Dating

Sound wild? The founder of bumble just stated “there is a world in which your dating concierge could go and date for you with another dating concierge”

Seems implausible, but this may happen- dating has become much more digital than it was in the past, with many finding partners via swipe.

AI dating for you, synthesizing information, and iterating could be a form of machinistic dating in the future.

Sounds dystopian, but with the way many feel it has a high likelihood of happening. She further states: “it could scan all of SF for you and say these are the people you really ought to meet”

So, more of an AI dating copilot in the short term.

3/ Elon speaks on Truth-Seeking AI

At a recent talk, Elon states:

“I think you want to have a maximum truth-seeking AI, this is very important. They should not be taught to lie. It should not be taught to say things that are not true. Even if those things are politically incorrect, it should still say what it believes to be true.”

This is true. AI trained on a set of data that is biased, or restricted to certain politically correct paradigms doesn’t benefit anybody.

Spicy times in the world of AI.
